Working alongside
Japan's creative partners.

Through our Japanese corporate entity and our advisor network, IP Bay works alongside Japan's institutional partners to support co-production and to help our partners access production incentive programs.

Shinji Sakamoto, IP Bay's Japan Operations Advisor, is a registered member of the Cool Japan Initiative, Japan's national strategy for supporting its content industries. Sakamoto holds direct ties to the Osaka Film Commission and the prefectural government, and works as the crossing between IP Bay and Japan's institutional community with care and respect.

We view this work as a responsibility. Japan's stories belong to Japan, and our role is to support their thoughtful introduction to audiences around the world.

Serving Japan's Publishers

Through relationships built over time.

In Japanese business culture, relationships are built slowly and held carefully. We take that approach seriously. Our introductions come through people whose trust has been earned over many years, and we hold that trust with respect.

When publishers engage with us, they do so because of the relationships we have been given the privilege to continue, not because of volume.

Serving Global Producers

A voice that listens first.

Japan is renowned for the wealth of its intellectual property in comics, animation, and games. Filmmakers seeking global audiences are increasingly looking toward these stories.

Our role is to help both sides understand each other, and to offer thoughtful perspective on which properties may be suited for which markets, always in conversation with the publisher and the creator.
